It would be neat if whoever's working/planning to work on a save converter accounts for the fact EU4 has a decision to abolish slavery. Maybe it checks for that country modifier and starts that tag off with special laws/relevant technologies unlocked in order to have no slave class/group and no vacancy for pops to downgrade to it..
